About NHS-LA
Welcome to New Horizon Los Angeles, a Preschool to 5th grade school situated in the south end of Los Angeles. We have been providing good quality education since 1984. Our students come from many different cultures and ethnic backgrounds and we are very proud of the diversity in our population.
In addition to our strong academic programming, New Horizon is equally proud of its religious Islamic program. Our students demonstrate a high sense of moral values and religious obligation. Our graduates are always on the top of educational competition throughout the greater Los Angeles area, public and private schools.
Several programs make us unique among Preschool-5th grade schools. We offer a challenging language arts program and Islamic Studies, Qur'an and Arabic programs as compulsory courses for all students. We have a strong PE program through all grades. Our mentorship program, in which students work with computers, has led many students to view computers in a different light and make them aware of occupations of which were unknown to them. Our strength lies in math and we are proud to state that some of our graduates have won positions in regional math contests.
New Horizon School - Los Angeles is fully licensed and approved by the State of California as a qualified school. We comply with state policies and we also have our own special policies that make us unique. We are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
